What you Need to Know About our Laser Hair Removal

Number of Treatments Required
A series of 8 to 12 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, is typically required for optimal results. Maintenance sessions may be needed annually.
Contra-indications
Laser hair removal is not suitable for:

Pregnant women

Individuals with certain skin conditions or infections in the treatment area

Those with very light or grey hair (due to lack of pigment)

Excessive sun exposure in the last two weeks.

Individuals on medicines like Accutane or Retinoids.

Pre-Treatment Protocols
Ensure that you have a safe and effective treatment by following these pre-treatment protocols:

Please shave 1 day prior to your scheduled appointment.

14 days before treatment: avoid sun exposure, waxing, threading, sugaring, and depilatory creams.

Do not use self-tanning products in the 14 days preceding your treatment.
-
Stop all HQ, Vit A, retinoids, and resurfacing products for 3 days prior to treatment.

Please inform your therapist of any of the following:

Sun exposure prior to each subsequent laser treatment.
-
Any medications you are currently taking, as well as any new medications taken before each subsequent treatment.
-
If you become pregnant during the course of your treatments or intend to.
-
History of herpes – a prophylaxis prescription can be arranged.
Post Treatment Protocols
Maximise your investment by following the post care protocols:
-
Stay out of direct sunlight for 14 days post treatment (including the indoors).
-
Use and SPF 30+ sunscreen on treated area..
-
Avoid heat – sauna, steam, long hot showers, sitting too close to heaters, etc.
-
Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to soothe the skin.
-
Refrain from exfoliating, scrubbing, harsh cleansing (for at least a week after the treatment).
-
No rubbing, excessive touching, picking, or scratching the treated area.
-
Light makeup can be worn the day after treatment, 24 hours after.
-
All Vit A and any other active products can be started or re-introduced 3–5 days after procedure.

Allow hair to fall out naturally; only shave if necessary. Avoid waxing and plucking while busy with course.

Contact your therapist immediately if you notice any of the following:
• Blistering
• Increased redness, swelling, heat or pain/sensitivity
Please do not try any home remedies or self-medicating for a reaction.
Additional Information
​Mild redness or swelling may occur but typically subsides within a few hours. Sunscreen is crucial post-treatment to protect treated areas. Avoid excessive sun exposure 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment.
